Exertion in Meditation Practice

When it comes to meditation practice there is a sense of exertion or energy we apply to the process. When my teacher Trungpa Rinpoche used to talk about exertion, he would contrast it to a more conventional notion of push-your-way-through, just-grin-and-bear-it kind of effort.

Instead there can be a light touch and some joy mixed in with our exertion.
