The uncertainty that comes with relaxing our solid sense of self can be unsettling. It’s much more comfortable to have this reliable old self that we put on, with all of our familiar habits, patterns, and preconceptions.

But actually our old self is a pain in the neck, it’s a drag on our existence, it’s a veil that prevents us from opening up and directly experiencing reality.
